Windows

A Poem by Renegade

Large window just a single pane
Glass streaked stains of summer rains
Sunrise breaks to make you brave
To seek the view that window gave

A child dreams of what my come
If promises are not undone
Age of course was no reflection
Of days like these stored in collections

Large window just a single pane
Glass streaked stains of summer rains
Sunrise breaks to make you brave
To seek the view that window gave

Cheek planted firmly on cold glass
Straining as the cars go past
In hopes to see that truck at last
Forms condensation from a breath
Of sweet anticipations death

Large window just a single pane
Glass streaked stains of summer rains
Sunrise breaks to make you brave
To seek the view that window gave

A child learns a lesson then
Of anticipations other friends
Broken promises and let downs lend
To inner walls built to defend
A child’s mind from all those things
That sweet addiction brings
