Sad Song

Sad Song

A Poem by Renegade

Don’t sing a sad song when I am gone
Said the soul that stayed too long
For it was caught in pantomime
Humming rhythm for the rhyme

A soul that’s suited for the giving
Without the goal for any winnings
All those years of simply spinning
Centrifuge the act of living

A life that’s full of inner walls
Resulted from those childhood falls
Freedom whispers and it calls
When you’re searching for the balls

A soul that tries to reach so high
Towards some kind of bluer sky
When reaching it is not to die
A soul just really needs to fly

A super nova of a life
Childhood memories all that strife
Reflections mirrored big bright light
When the mind escapes the plight

And if you were a lucky soul
That got behind the defense walls
Use the memories to forestall
Any need to grieve at all

Don’t sing a sad song when I am gone
Said the soul that stayed too long
For it was caught in pantomime
Humming rhythm for the rhyme
