Life Mine

Life Mine

A Poem by Renegade

Life Mine

Life’s mine is just time

 In a way

When the soul has so much

 Just to say

Panning rocks while you’re down

In the dirt

Working hard to the point

That it hurt

Prospecting the essence

 Of time

While looking for gold

 In life’s mine

Soon enough you start feeling

Too old

Not as bold as you once would

Have told

Finding friends are just

Panning for gold

All the ones through the sifting

Those go

Some of them were just

Iron Pirate

Tried to hold but they just

Couldn’t fly right

Shed no tears, all the fears

You are rugged

And the friends that are left

Are the nuggets
