Empty Eyes

Empty Eyes

A Poem by Renegade

Empty Eyes

Empty eyes

The souls disguise

For all that rides

While some things die

Empty eyes

There are no spies

For all that ties

To screams that hide

Empty eyes

No surprise

Nothing wise

In the dime store buys

Empty eyes

A child cries

To no one’s surprise

A soul’s demise

Empty eyes

A note that ties

And a child hides

In the shadow’s guise

Empty eyes

Chilled by the bise

There are no highs

In empty eyes

Great atmosphere. I really like the short, rhymed quatrains.
