As each drop falls

As each drop falls

A Poem by Rhine Wolf

As each drop hits the floor
A little more of me fades

I look at the photo of you and me
And the memories fill my mind
And my heart skips a beat

As each drop hits the floor
A little more of me breaks

As I visit the places we once roomed
The images fill me, reminding me
And it tears me apart

As each drop hits the floor
A little more of me disappears

Friends who don’t know ask
How you are doing why you not here?
And my heart breaks at the telling

As each drop hits the floor
A little more of me is lost

As each day passes on
My soul cry’s out for you
The missing becomes over whelming

As each drop hits the floor
A little more of me is dieing

Each time we contact one another
My whole being crumbles
Knowing that I have lost you.

As each drop hits the floor
I wish for it to be last.

What an ode to a love "long distant" even when physically so, very close!! Those that we love so deeply, and yet cannot help feel the need to assist, in hopes of free-ing them from pain and suffering; they are the souls we care for and love most deeply and perhaps are the ones we wish we did not love so but, cannot stop ourselves from loving their golden souls.

If only the last drop were just that and one could begin anew with little thought on the past we must "leave behind" in hopes of finding another shining light to follow and love endlessly.

What a write!!! Thank you for bringing it to my attention!! Gave me things to contemplate about my past. ;~) Sallie Bear

Wow, now you have me in tears! I fully understand the impact of those tears in our lives that sound like a thousand drums as they hit the ground. So much they take with them. This is so deep and devistating but truly speaks of your great love for her. Time heals a lot of wounds. How much time, no one knows. Peace to your heart, my friend. Peace to your heart!

This is very tragic and beautiful, I loved the repetition - it worked really nicely. =) Great job!

I thought it was a great write. I liked the repeating of the same line all throughout the poem. Made such an emphasism on the feeling of fading and losing that which you don't want to lose. Heartbreak is a tragic thing.
The first part....A little more of me fades........that is very true, but do remember that you will never completely lose yourself unless you allow it. It will get better...I promise. But only once you come to the point that you realize you don't want to feel bad anymore. The day will come my friend....the day will come.
Well done Dragon.....keep writing, it always seems to help me.
yours always....TP...Poetess

Two souls parting is never a pleasant expierence, i can see that she ment a lot to you and that you love her alot and all those memories will haunt you for a long time, but sometime people just drift apart and i can see that you are on the hurting side. I think if you give her time she might come back to you, and if she does not , the gods will not let you suffer too long.
