Thrashing, Screaming, Beating, PleadingA Poem by JoeMy experience driving home this afternoon.
Thrashing, screaming, beating, pleading
My body thick with hurt. Cannot think, Cannot speak, Only pain released in obscenity. There is not enough air in the world, To take into my lungs, To scream as loud as it takes, To shout my pain away. So heavy with grieve, I feel like I'll sink into the earth. And I don't mind, At least it won't hurt. Deep inside I want to die, But I know I must be strong. There is always tomorrow, A new day, a new dawn.
