The Guardian of the NightA Poem by Laura HughesThis poem was inspired by my own artwork of a snowy owl.
She watches from her mighty perch,
as the world below moves unknowingly. She knows she will only lurch, if something or someone attacks knowingly. Her vibrant eyes and feathers, shine brightly in the moonlight. It doesn't matter what weathers, she still stands guard throughout the night. She can see everything down below, as her neck turns side to side. Even is something moves slow, she can witness what tries to hide. When the night turns into dawn, and the bright sun starts to rise. She will finally retire with a yawn, as the sunlight meets her eyes. © 2025 Laura HughesFeatured Review
