For someone who claims to suck at humor, this is the funniest senryu I've ever read! I've written a few myself, but none compare to this for laughing out loud. So you do write in all the forms; all except for that ****** shadorma!

Oh, I have composed Shadorma, but they are as I've said, so it is not a form I return to for inspiring enjoyment in writing poetry … though, I am not adverse in writing in any form; for, as in music, there is the perfect note and chord that befits the exact mood; thus, in poetic forms it is the same.

This one, BTW, I know is not a proper Senryu … it is composed strictly for Matt in an effort to fit his contest requirement.

According to A Handbook to Literature (Macmillan, New York, 1992), senryu has a "lighter mood" than haiku; I've taken this to mean that senryu are funny, and yours is really funny, strict senryu or not.

I'm not much of a poet these days. The gears are too rusty and I hate the sound they make when I try to crank out poetry in any form. I suppose I'm just out of practice. I'll give it a look, trying never killed anyone. Unless they were trying to kill themselves I guess.(dark humor)
