TO DREAM (love's winding paths)

BALLAD in 8/6/8/6 iambic meter, a-b-a-b, c-d-c-d, etc: rhyme scheme. Written from both the Male & Female perspectives.

He, light. She, dark.

Down dappled paths, strolling alone,

immersed in wondrous thought …

by sun-warmed winds to you they’re blown,

within your own dreams caught.

Oh, how each thought returns to you

'pon morning's early rise …

love's harvest yields one wish come true,

'neath Heaven's teal blue skies

Spontaneously ~ here with me,

your warmth within my arms;

at once, our souls are soaring free,

rapt in each other’s charms.

Together, languish carefree days,

bestowed in lovers’ trust.

Such happenstance, now set ablaze …

eyes gleam with star-glazed lust.

Tall trees above -- each sighing, talk …

sough whispers soft and low,

"Who are these lovers on a walk,

where do they plan to go?"

Below lush, verdant canopies,

in private rendezvouses;

when smiles beam brightly … such as these,

sweet Mother Nature coos.

Their ambiance, set by birdsong,

a lilting symphony;

we touch ~ each step further along

hearts stir in ecstasy.

Along, love’s magick stirs within,

wisp butterflies in flight;

my sultry eyes reflect, therein …

rest safe in your delight.

Rush pleasure’s thrallings, in all ways

such charms to set us free;

thus, every touched caress portrays …

sweet sensuality.

Our painted canvas on display

amidst the hushed sublime …

shall neither heart be set astray,

each steps in perfect time.

Before us there, a sunny glade,

awaits two lovers blissed …

as sure, thereon, we will have laid;

where, as in dreams, we’ve kissed.

Whilst tender moments two hearts share

moist, silken touch of lips ~

o' love divine, beyond compare,

each heart together slips.

Like flavored wine that’s aged in time,

flowers’ bouquet ~ as thine;

no moment’s known more lushly prime

than coveting your shrine.

So seldom gifted lover’s prize,

with heartsong’s peaceful sighs.

Soft teardrops gleam ’neath misty eyes …

each moment magnifies.

Deep treasures felt we daren't exchange;

this cannot be denied.

Thus, 'pon our page, we rearrange

to kiss where dreams reside.

’Til blazing stars unite as one,

vast heaven's set aglow …

blush ever gently, morning's sun,

to whispered highs below.

Beneath soft sighs 'n sun's warm glow,

life's lovely strolls so bend …

our steps along the way thus show

where love's paths often end.

This feels to me like a bedtime story, to fall asleep while it's being recite, kind of hypnosis to dream... how nice, a cowrite between He, Mr. Richard and She, Miss Richeal LOL it's like having your ying and yang coming to sing together. How wondrously uncanny the way you always seem to know exactly what my intent is when composing a poem … it's as though you sit upon the shoulder of my mind's deepest thoughts, sensations, and emotions.
