    The F I N D🍃

She sits beside a babbling brook

lost deep in thoughts that lightly flow …

a tranquil scene, a peaceful look

where silent dreams begin to grow.

He’s on the other bank so near,

yet, worlds apart in reverie …

        hushed mutterings he cannot hear,

from 'neath his shading cherry tree.

        Like soothing waterflow lullabies …

her secrets carried pon soft breeze,

by lazy clouds ’cross azure skies,

through rustling leaves of sacred trees.

His dreams transpire to halfway meet

midstream with hers in swelling bliss.

Carnality sings its songs so sweet,

such thought-filled dreams cannot help kiss.

Their brook divides … a silver thread,

she feels sun’s lurid warmth upon her face.

        With words unspoken, dreams unsaid,

        in this secluded, tranquil place.

Yet, still and all, they touch ’n glow,

from life’s pure force both ways they’re drawn

        o’er trickling rivulets that flow,

it’s to these dreams desires hold on.

        While as they hold, this distance is breached;

        their long-yearned dreams become entwined,

in such wondrous ways love’s truth is reached …

and, two lonely dreamers’ search ~ ends in the find🍃

Another excellent poem, Richard. You've captured the romantic vibe without getting graphic which is something I've seen too much of on another site.

I've noticed you've changed the syllable count toward the end. I'm assuming that's done on purpose to keep the lines from becoming to strict and stuffy?

Your writing is always of the highest caliber. Great poem.

Dear Richard
Along with all the obstacles in the way, the two managed to "find" each other mid-stream....and then, we know what happens....A beautifully rhymed poem with words of passion, vivid descriptions of nature at its finest,...."his dreams transpire to halfway meet midstream with hers in swelling bliss".....
Thank you for sharing this amazing poetry....

A beautiful and seamless collaboration with Amy! Both of you have melded your poetic skills to create a masterpiece here. Echo & Narcissus - The subject is so novel and the presentaion is very creative. This poem has just the right touch of sensuality, reverie, longing, distance and proximity. It stirs the reader's imagination and pulls them into the mood. My most favourite is the final verse where the distance is breached, culminating in love's dreams.

I loved the artwork too and the mythologial figures come so alive on the page.

My compliments Richard! And Amy! Very inspring poetry!
