Sanctuary

Take me to sanctuary,
Where my peaceful soul lies,
No more heavy burdens--
Or trouble filled eyes.

This heaven that I long for--
Is it but a dream?
It does not seem as real,
As the others make it seem.

My heart beings to follow,
But my mind stays behind,
For I fear it is not sanctuary,
That I will truly find.

My journey still continues,
My answer still unknown,
Searching for this sanctuary,
That I can call my own.

There is a such a gentle rhythm to this poem that it almost feels like a warm breeze washing over you. As if giving the reader a taste of this peaceful place longed for. Again, flawless rhyme incorporated so well into this well written poem.

My favorite lines:

My journey still continues,
My answer still unknown,
Searching for this sanctuary,
That I can call my own.

Is so beautifully reflective. I think we are all on the same journey to find our sanctuary.

The flow was really good and I loved the calm, searching for serenity feel. Divine peace, that's what this makes me think of, the soul finding comfort in the world. Great write.
