Give it more than just a chance

Peace needs more 

than just a chance

if it's to be the way

Peace needs practice

in every place

each and every day

It must start small

in homes and schools

and in our streets and towns

Before we'll see 

a global change

of harmony all around

I love this one because peace starts small. First have inner piece, then with our families, friends, then it will expand to communities, cities, so on and son. You did a wonderful job explain that especially the last verses in regards to global change. N.

Ah - a fellow teacher! Yes, we need to get this seemingly simple point across to the younger generation, if anything is to change. Junior high students understand, but still don't always "get it". Thank you for reading - glad you enjoyed!

My students are 16-18 and most have been taught that violence is the best way to deal with conflict. Sometimes I feel like I'm fighting a losing battle; I'm so proud in those moments when I see them hold back, talk through their problems, or express their frustration, anger, or sadness without using their fists.
