Twenty-four

Never enough

Twenty-four hours

are not enough

to do what I want

AND the "have to" stuff

Gotta do dishes

do laundry and cook;

want to curl up

with some tea and a book

Shopping required

for groceries and such;

seek staying home 

to write poems as much

Obliged to mark tests

make plans and do grades;

yearn to be part

of some righteous crusades

Need to answer emails

and take care of the pets

wish I could just hang

without any regrets

So many things

to do in a day,

journal and walk 

and sing and crochet

If only it could be

within my own power

to make a day longer 

than twenty-four hours

I never understand when people say they are bored! I have a million things to do today - and THIS is what I'm doing... :)

This was awesome. Honestly, I have yet to know the feeling of having so much stuff to do. I'm not looking forward to it, and your poem shows me why I want to stay in college for the rest of my life. This was really fun to read and I enjoyed it! Good job!

Haha i'm bored because i don't have that much to do. Not many "have to"s and my "want to" list is dependent on my "allowed to" list.. maybe you could give me some of your "have to"s. You'd have more time for your "want to"s and I'd have more things to fill time with :D
