A Poem by Rita L. Sev
"

Check what's inside before buying it

"

You announce: “New and improved”

touting a guarantee

which you do not honor

You offer free trials

and claim easy results

But now your perfect packaging

is torn open

revealing

false advertising

A step away from your usual fare, and it's good! I like the line breakage, but I feel like the use of commas would really emphasize those breaks you use. As nearly always, I love the message in this piece. False labels are deceitful and often very dangerous, so we should always be on the lookout! Nice piece, Rita!

Thank you, Will. I'll give some thought to those commas; I see what you mean.
"new from Popiel, the pocket fisherman!" (actually, that little son of a b***h worked) but i get a huge charge out of all the ridiculous notions they introduce on late night tv. remember the spray on hair restorer? now that was a hoot! and so is this terrific little poem...Rita, you are a treasure!

love the sarcasm. my cousin tried the advertising industry, but she kept trying to be honest about everything, so they said she was awful and should try another field... go figure!

Talk is cheap if it is not backed up by actions.
I love the sarcastic nature of the poem.
