before i read the author's note...yes, my take was this being about phony people...especially people with whom we get into relationships...and later find out that person is nothing like the person we fell in love with...the packaging is often very deceiving.

A step away from your usual fare, and it's good! I like the line breakage, but I feel like the use of commas would really emphasize those breaks you use. As nearly always, I love the message in this piece. False labels are deceitful and often very dangerous, so we should always be on the lookout! Nice piece, Rita!

(actually, that little son of a b***h worked) but i get a huge charge out of all the ridiculous notions they introduce on late night tv. remember the spray on hair restorer? now that was a hoot! and so is this terrific little poem...Rita, you are a treasure!
