"I am" Poem

I am blissful, I am me

I wonder what tomorrow holds

I hear the sunrise every dawn

I see the sky as it unfolds

I want all people to be free

I am blissful, I am me

 

I pretend to have no doubts at all

I feel cherubic choir voices

I touch the veil of Heaven’s door

I worry about so many choices

I cry when Death demands his fee

I am blissful, I am me

 

I understand that we must let go

I say we make our own truth

I dream about my father’s laugh

I try to keep the joy of youth

I hope for peace that all may see

I am blissful, I am me

That just about sums up all of our hopes and dreams: Your first verse inspired me to write this gift poem for you which your may keep as your own since it contains the gist of your first verse. It's in /0/0/0/ seven syllable meter rhyme overlapping /0/0/0/0 eight syllable meter rhyme.


Blissful Freedom

Blissfulness is part of me
no matter what the Fates may hold.
From the skyline of each sea,
I hope that each day may unfold
over people who are free.
where no one's willfully controlled
by tyrannical decree
to join a tyrant's common mold.
