Dear Yesterday,

I’m grateful

for the memories and lessons,

for experience and joys

beyond all measure

 

Dear Tomorrow,

Here’s my promise:

you will not go to waste;

I’ll unwrap you with the care

reserved for treasure

 

I’m thankful to you both

for you frame all that I am;

I gain the wisdom

coming either way

 

I know this to be true,

that the present would be naught

if not for past and future.
