Cosmic Parallels

Cosmic Parallels

A Poem by Rita L. Sev
"

Two for One

"

Lunar surface shines so bright The moon bounce looms, it’s beckoning

The water’s deep and dark The dunk tank draws them too

Between moon and sea, humanity Between these toys, the girls and boys

The face of Divine Spark Roam the avenue

Nourished by the fruits of earth Aroma of carcinogens

Refreshed by cooling springs As grills are lit mid-day

Souls unify to dance on And then the drunken neighbors dance

Melodies that Nature sings To whims of the DJ

Camaraderie of mankind The beer flows with their buddies here

The laud of angel choirs No ID required

A day of Eden on the earth Kept the party going

Until the sun retires Long after sun retired

Yesterday was my street's block party. It's a small block; from my steps I could see the moon bounce at one end and the dunk tank at the other.

Wow Rita, both are beautiful in what they express. The beauty of nature and the beauty of friendship and happy neighborhoods. Would have loved to atten that block party, but in a way I did.

There's something ethereal and angelic about this jovial poem, makes me think of folk from ancient times, dancing outside under a fading summer sun in joyful bliss, celebrating and grateful their harvest has been fruitful and their granaries are now well stocked for the advancing winter!

Enchanting, a fine poem !

I enjoyed the stark parallel between the natural and the artificial. Human beings tend to lose sight of the natural through their obsession with that plastic environment that they're addicted to. In time, the whole human race shall be encased in plastic cubes forever frozen in time as anachronistic fossils sunken two miles below the surface of the Earth.
