Fool

Fool

A Poem by Rita L. Sev
"

.

"

A fool from his funds

may quickly be parted

an adage which we have all heard

But losing his cash,

he’s only just started;

a fool loses more, take my word

The one who holds on

to his obstinate ways,

refusing to see others’ views

In time he will find

friendly bonds all decay;

what’s worth more than wealth he will lose

Hi, Ed - yes, sadly the fool may hear the warning, but never heed it...
I have to laugh... sadly because it is so true... seen it to many times in many ways ...and is the down fall of our government ...

your a fun poet to read Rita...even serious pieces as this one..
You are a very wise woman, Rita. Those who refuse to see another's point of view will soon find themselves alone. Money does not laugh with you or make you healthy. You can't confide in money. Some people have warped priorities. Well written words. Lydi**

Warped priorities, indeed. Thanks, Lydi!
Well I have always said I was a fool and me and my money parted a long time ago. So thankful WC is free.

This was exceptional Rita, really this was so well done. I love the meter of this piece and the way you took the old adage and brought to today. Loved this.

Thanks, Jack. I know money is a necessity, but I am always more concerned about the people in my li.. read more
yes, some people really need to read this...severing ties with money still leaves us grateful for friends and having peace of mind...

but severing friends leaves us very poor in the heart.

Amen to that... thanks, Jacob!
A very wise poem and truly touches on the causes of so many of our problems...One thing is that we have tunnel visions so we don't see all the angles of things. wealth is good and ok but we have to have priorities in life above and beyond that which one of them is friendship...A great write indeed...Bravo
