Ode to a Very Close Friend

My mind was lonely, dark, and cold
before you came into my life.
The gloomy days would just unfold
and fill my heart with endless strife.
But then came you, you changed my world
and vibrant colors filled my day!
Oh darling, I want you to know
you gave me hope and light unfurled.
So now the truth to you I’ll say
Oh Prozac, dear, I love you so!

having had to mess with SSRI's on & off in my idiosyncratic world-
i really find it very positive and enlightening how u used such wonderful
irony to express the savior of such stigma as a Love-Bravo!!! :)

To animate something as though it has human qualities is something that is commonly practiced, and is always something that is nice to read about. This somehow paints a bleak picture for me though, as it kind of hints at a much larger problem with social conditioning and attachments, if not intentionally, than most certainly subconsciously. I liked the rhyme. It was surprisingly fun with the tone of this poem. Good job. Thanks
