Whether am I the Last PoetA Poem by Rob ErtWhether am I
the last poet, My country’s final
artist? Is it sleep,
or is it death, Binding you, bright
Nairi? Forlorn, in
the fugitive land, I dream of you
vividly, And your royal
language voices, Like a prayer divinely. Voices deeply and
lively, Scorches and cleaves
robustly, Are you a flame
with bright roses? No, you're the
blood of my bruises. I’m
calling you with esteem, Shine
my phantom, Nairi. Whether am I
the last poet, My country’s final
artist? Written by: Vahan Terian Translated by: Rob Ert © 2014 Rob ErtAuthor's Note
