Poem of a handmaid

Poem of a handmaid

A Poem by tbeatlegirl
"

A poem inspired by The Handmaid's tale by Margret Atwood

"

Despite of the mournful cry

The world of female kind

Has became hell, or something of it

Bodies of the sinners hang from the wall

We become birthing slaves

Unable to read or write

We are not able to love

Sad but true

If there is any truth at all

Lies cannot be seen

neither spoken

Conspiracy among those who want out

Of the hell

That was once free

That was once American, but isn’t anymore

We want out

We hide our tears that should be revealed

We want more, we want freedom

We want out

We want to be dead.
