Deep In The Cold

Dark clouds, above me, 

as I lay in my bed. 

The rain is a constant blanket.

In the cold, whirl wind of my mind, 

the storm brews, 

its eye focused on me
I am swept away 

into the storm surge, 

that surrounds me, 

the flood covers me, 

taking me down, 

deep into its cold 

ocean depths

A bubble of light 

encircle me and
I am able to breathe again.
This hope, 

maybe fleeting, 

but I am alive because of it.
It calms 

the turbulent currents,
in soothing breaths

I think this shows how we as writers love our writing as it is very personal and comes from the heart. Someone took your writing and put it out there, shattering you, evoking those feelings of fright and depression that you usually feel for the reason of others know how you feel. You try to hold onto hope and good things such as light but find it so hard too, especially because also as writers, we are very protective and territorial over our work, and wish that if it must be shared, it is still ours.
