The sweet fragrance of the little ones who are part of Heaven's bouquet ever lingers over us with we remember them, as we love them, as we speak of them, as we write of them! The song is perfect and compliments your message of those who are with us for such a short time! If you have lost a child as this, I offer compassion for you and those who are a part of this dear one's memory! I did not lose an infant, but did lose a son at age 16.........a child lost is NEVER forgotten!!!!
Your words deliver a powerful message!!

Roma this one leaves me feeling as if it is a poem written in remembrance of a child passed too soon. It is haunting in its nature and leaves a feeling of sadness. Well done my friend

The loss of a child is devastating. This poem stirs memories of heart ache. The gardenia is sweetly fragrant, a scent that lingers and the white colour of the petals speaks to me of innocence. To be taken in this way is certainly the cruelest of blows. Your references to the natural environment make this even more poignant for me. The blossoms in the garden of eternity, never forgotten. The loss of the gardenia tree and your own mother years later Roma, add to the sadness. Condolences.

I still remember when my mom gifted that Gardenia tree to me, she was so excited and she planted it,.. read more
I wrote this poem over 10 years ago, after a miscarriage. I posted this in 2015, but shelved it. Somehow, this wound still feels fresh. My mother planted a gardenia tree and it died when she died, but the photo of the gardenia flower and this poem, is all that is left now

Sweetly written - it is full of sadness but sweet imagery. I love gardenias and their scent so I understand that childlike innocence relating to the fresh, white flower of a gardenia.
This is a strong poem with a great deal of heart in each line.

I really like this write. Your expression of how soon it is gone and the reference to Heaven was different and unique. Good one Sweetie. Valentine
