Needling Hope

Hope, like rain on desert lands,
a tenderness to weathered hands,
weeding through the hardened soil.

A smile on wearied faces,
a light in darkened places,
and courage when we have feared.

Each breath a tangled thread,
a stitch for what the soul has bled,
mending what the storms have frayed.

Hope stands when all falls.

Hope, when that is all you have left -
needling blue skies into gray.

I see you have posted more poems!! Great!!.

Hope!! It is hard to come by, but easy to lose. There is not enough hope in the world today, not enough personally. Hope is a dangerous thing because it allows us to dream, and those dreams, if worked on and are in line with reality, can come true. It allows us to come through those storms. Maybe a bit battered, but stronger, more conscious of who we are and what we need to do, and where to go.

Hope is the last to die. A poem about hope and its strength. A lovely poem that applies to all in that everyone needs hope from rich to poor, healthy to sick, saint to sinner we all need it. Nicely written Roma

I like in the first stanza hope is come to those places, deserts, darkened places. And then the imagery goes from weathered hands working the hardened soils to those same hands gently knitting. It shows hope is not just wishful thinking. People.actively work to bring hope even you have to stitch the blue skies yourself. Love this one

I've learned that hope It's not just waiting for good things to happen, but actively creating them, piece by piece.

Even when you feel surrounded by gray. Like pulling a thread through the eye of a needle, of knitting my own blue skies or even weeding through hardened soil, just to grow ypur own hope.

That, to me, is true resilience.
