I never believed in magic
until you carried me
through doorways
that spilled shadow and sunlight,
where floors became rivers
and ceilings became skies I could swim in.
Your words twist the walls
like wind caught in glass.
Your touch turns ordinary rooms
into forests of pine,
oceans of salt air,
skies trembling with light.
I have seen storms in your eyes
and felt them in your pages,
wild and beautiful,
and I have learned to dance in them,
my heart a candle in a hurricane.
The world tilts,
the castle shudders,
and still I follow,
anchored in your orbit,
because love with you
is not calm
but it is home.
I love you in a thousand ways:
in quiet mornings with tea,
in stairs that tumble like leaves in a storm,
in the secret knowing
that even when the walls fall down,
even when the sunlight falters,
we remain ours.
This is a love poem with carefully chosen wording, lovely images, metaphor and good meter. It flows like a stream into a river toward the sea. If not for the title and a few references it could be a love poem for an individual having all the characteristic passion of rapids and rushing waters as well as the brightness of sunlit steady waters meandering flowing calmly. I loved it

I love that you noticed how it could read as a love letter. You’re right --I was really just putting words down, but the poem is my way of celebrating every writer and wordsmith whose imagery and skill can carry a reader away, showing how powerful words can be in opening new worlds and stirring the imagination.

Writerscafe has a very particular affect on writers and those who enjoy the written word. "Falling Into Love" from start to finish captures that sentiment wonderfully. Fantastic piece.

The Word has great Power still Roma - even in this modern age of non-stop visuals - and those who nurture the Word and witness to God's goodness are indeed blessed. Exceptional ✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️

I feel the same.. even in a world of constant images, the power of the Word endures. The Bible has been the one book I’ve kept and returned to since I was a kid. There’s something sacred in how language can lift us, connect us, and reveal the beauty that often goes unnoticed.
The language of love, an art in itself. How words reach out to connect to those open to connecting, a stimulus in itself, enriching the mind maybe feeding the soul.

Okay so, I get it. It's a poem about reading stories and poems on here. I'd read some poetry and get swept away in it. So I understand that. I can't do longer works, like long, chapter stories tho. I can't bring myself to get "carried away" into the long, chapter stories. And most writers here don't care. They all just want thoughtful feedback and not even acknowledge when someone actually gives them thoughtful feedback. When I see that. I won't even bother to comment. Cause what's the point? Or I'll just say, "nice work" imagine so many writers on here but most of them don't know how to actually read or even bother to reply or review a poem or story. It won't be "reciprocal" so I wouldn't waste my time reading such a longass chapter when they can't even be bothered to read a short poem.

I completely understand what you mean.. it can be frustrating when effort isn’t met with engagement. Part of what I wanted to capture in my poem is that feeling of being swept away by words that do reach you, even if it’s just one story, one poem, or one line. Those moments of connection are rare and precious, and they can feel almost like love in their intensity.
This poem beautifully captures the feeling of "falling into love"..not with a person, but with words and the worlds they open. As a reader, I can relate: your poetry carries me to surreal, dreamlike places where forests pulse, oceans surge, and ordinary spaces transform into something extraordinary. Like your recent poem, Two Waves, this piece makes emotions tangible..storms in the eyes, hearts as candles in hurricanes..through the magic of language. Reading poems and stories, just like your own work; is like being carried somewhere entirely new, and it lingers long after.

The addressee here must be a special individual. On the other hand, there is the implication that love with this person "is not calm/but it is home." Indeed, special people can be difficult. Be careful.

Not every piece is “magical” or “not calm,” but I enjoy reading them all at home while sipping some hot tea, haha. That’s the beauty of poetry --it can carry different meanings for different readers and feel like home in so many ways, depending on who’s reading. Thank you for your thoughts; I really appreciate them.
Are you flirting with me? I have to come back to this later. To give more thought into this lol. Please don't take this the wrong way. I haven't had coffee yet. It is a beautiful thought.
