The depths of his charmA Story by Rose S
As he entered the bus, her face lit up. A warm, sunny feeling in her cheeks reflected as she glowed radiantly, shifting aside to make space for him at her left. Scooting, she felt encaptured, by his sheer presence.
Her mind raced with the huge dopamine hit as she found it difficult to stop herself from smiling and beaming, without a reason. A pretty intriguing conversation took place in her head. “Oh god Rose, stop!! He’ll think you’re weird! STOPP” “But he’s looking so go-” “YES, I KNOW. Now Shut -_-”. As she finally collected herself, she turned to him and started talking about the upcoming exam, finding it the easiest to start a conversation with. She peered at his face, which was now supporting a thicket of black beard and an adjoining moustache which was slightly twitched at the ends. Chuckling to herself, she turned round to grab her book. Beginning to take a long sigh, she stopped abruptly. A bad smell? NO It was one of the best smells she had ever smelt till date. The signature smell.. She took a long sigh, closing her eyes in bliss and breathed in his fragrance. A sense of warm comfort overtook her and suddenly, everything was alright. Feelings of anxiety, worriedness, anticipation, all were gone, with only one residing close to her heart, of safety.. And of possible love.. She wished to rest her head on his shoulder for eternity, never wanting to let go of his smell. She.. knew it might not turn out that way, and that she might be wrong.. But nevertheless, she didn't want to give up trying. This same thought had emerged as she called him closer, as they were entering the campus. Her mind kept repeating “I might be wrong.. Should I or not?” At ast, in a moment of fleeting hope and pure bravery and confidence, she gave him an ear peck, something which was pretty bold of her. Her heart fluttered and pounded audibly as she started to get a little wheezy in her head. However, not knowing what would happen, she careened and briskly walked away, not turning her head to see what would hold for her in the near future. She wondered if she’d understand Bob Dylan’s “Knocking on heaven’s door” or Van Halen’s “Can’t stop loving you”. But I guess.. ‘Only Time Would Tell” © 2024 Rose SAuthor's Note
