Lonely for a friend....

I long for a true friend one that i can be close to

I am lonely for someone
to shy to ask
lack in self-esteem
low in confidence
often i put on a mask.
Try to please people.
But I stood up for myself
and others
and wrote a poem
not a bad poem
but one that
would be understanding
how people cope
with life.
I guess it cost me a friend
but was she even a real
friend after all
I think not
So if you read
this tonight
I could really
do with a listing ear....
