A dream that I sleepA Poem by Rudi J.P. LejaeghereYou have to dream before your dreams can come true. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam
It’s the
rain that writes me upon the
window and I read the story
of days grow shorter
dispersed
in sweeps of water one of the
shower chatters louder than
the others and kisses
me wet but tender
good night
with the
wind in my arms I toss and
turn as a lover between
cold woman hands
carried
away in a cradle of warmth I’m
listening to the whispers between the
roof tiles
in my ear I
hear the sound of the
winter
in the dark
of the night I read
further by a lonely star berthed
between clouds and it
tells of hope and light
and for the
rest I know nothing but of a
dream that I
sleep.
