Silent the
apple lays half peeled in the
painting but it’s
especially the knife
brilliant
sharp on the board
that draws
my attention just one
hand away from his fixed
prey
that’s why
I also suspect on the
outside of the frame the man or
the woman ready to
complete the task at least a
child to bite a
piece out of the fruit
maybe I
will be back tomorrow I wouldn’t
be surprised if I could
look the worm out of the
rest of this apple.
