Shatter

Shatter

A Poem by Rudie Rock

Liquor bottle smashed on the floor.

Picking up the piece that slice my fingers.

Just a casualty of the great war.

Crossing every line as my vision blurs.

Grabbing glass after glass.

Doing nothing but the same old dance.

Wishing this feeling would pass.

Slipping into the same drunken trance.

Tears can only flow so much.

Words can only go so far.

Foot on the clutch,

Hoping this time for a visible scar.

Just wanting to be the same.
