Paths of separationA Poem by RuseInexloneliness can create frozen feelingsthe edges and back of my heart are cold and shivers from the weight of sorrow you are going away, i remember your face your eyes the smile of your spirit touching the sides of my heart moving up to my throat getting stuck there in a tight, choking spasm of paralysis i see your empty footprints sunken in the frozen ground remnants of your walk your body, your talk and your laugh emptiness surrounds me now and i cry at times like this i would rather have died or not have been born the pain of a heart alone is such great weight, a massive crushing stone there's ghosts in the air surrounding my inner ear i hear laughter and voices soft there's ghosts in the air surrounding my eyes, i see them floating by and i cannot touch them cannot hold them or look into them anymore they are gone and going on it could be that i will never see them again i die alive in my grief die alive in the loneliness of my broken heart © 2015 RuseInex |
