I love the ocean! I love how it's always doing something different. This poem attempts to capture that diversity. :)

Faces of the Sea

 

Wildly rugged, smooth as satin,

Mighty Ocean fills my sight;

Deeply, darkly, dully rolling,

Glinting, flashing, lightning-bright.

 

Slow, majestic, massive sighing,

Rapid, rushing, racing ride;

Violently storming, crashing;

Soft, caressing, stinging tide.

 

Vibrant, playful, friendly menace;

Loyally fickle sailor’s wife;

Vastly solitary, lonely;

Thronging, teeming, filled with life.

 

Who can calm the Sea’s proud ranting?

Who can still her thundering?

Laughing, roaring, raging, singing "

Mighty Ocean knows her King.

Excellent! I could hear the roaring of the ocean, great imgeary and choice of words!!

What a ride. Not sure how you did it, but the pace wuickened and crescendoed with beautiful imagery. Need to read more of your writing when I can.
