The Showband Dances.

The Showband Dances.

A Poem by Thomas Ryan

In the days of old, when music reigned,

And hearts were light, and souls unchained,

There came a time, a joyful sight,

The Show Band Dances, through the night.

With melodies sweet, they filled the air,

A symphony of love, beyond compare,

The rhythm swayed, the beat entwined,

As bodies moved, in perfect time.

From ballrooms grand to village halls,

The Show Band Dances, where magic calls,

Couples twirled, in graceful embrace,

Lost in the music, a timeless space.

The crooners sang, their voices soared,

Romantic tales, forever adored,

The trumpets blared, the saxophones wailed,

The dancers spun; their spirits unveiled.

In vibrant suits and sparkling gowns,

They danced away their worries and frowns,

The Show Band Dances, a moment's escape,

From the troubles of life, a sweet landscape.

Young and old, they gathered there,

To dance away their every care,

With laughter and joy, they filled the floor,

Creating memories, forevermore.

The Show Band Dances, a cherished treasure,

Where love and music found their measure,

Though time has passed, their spirit remains,

In the hearts of those who danced through the strains.

So let us remember, with fondness and glee,

The Show Band Dances, a symphony,

For in those moments, we found romance,

And the magic of music, in every dance
