A Life So Sad

A Life So Sad

A Poem by Thomas Ryan

A life so sad, a heart so blue,

A world so dark, with nothing new.

The sun has set, the stars have gone,

And left me here to carry on.

The tears I cry, they fall like rain,

And wash away my endless pain.

The memories of what once was,

Are now just shadows in the dust.

I try to smile, I try to laugh,

But all I feel is this endless wrath.

The world around me moves so fast,

But I'm stuck here in the past.

So let me be, and let me grieve,

For all the things I can't retrieve.

A life so sad, a heart so blue,

Is all that's left for me and not you.
