Cherish Where it Lies.A Poem by Thomas RyanIt wasn't about luxury hotels, Nor the engagement in Paris, Not his first kiss or our initial handshake. His presence remained a mystery, For why acknowledge it when he was elsewhere, I stayed through thick and thin, While he chose to wander elsewhere. That was then, this is now, Alone, pondering his absence. He never truly captured my heart, But I held onto the one he offered. He shattered our love, Perhaps it could've been a heavenly union. I will rediscover love, Find the heart I seek, Until then, it's time to focus on myself. © 2024 Thomas Ryan |
