Diamonds

Diamonds

A Poem by RyleeBabby

Momma used to say

"Girl get those diamonds."

Diamonds are what make a real woman.

Momma used to say

"Dad's outta town."

But they all knew, Dad was right down the street.

What do you do

When the world goes cold?

And theres nothing left to give?

"Momma, why are you hangin there like that?"

"Momma???"

The diamonds shone brighter than those glassy eyes.

"Girl get those diamonds"  the whispers were all she heard.

With shaky hands, and a gentle touch.

Girl got those diamonds

No man will decide her fate,

And alone she'll stay.
