For Best Results, RetreatA Poem by Sean
Walking away when you want me means nobody gets hurt. You must trust it's your interest in mind for I know my demons and I know my disease and I know with you that they cannot be defied.
Walking away, though I want you, is avoiding the real pain. If feelings get deeper, stronger, decisions we may make in lust, in haste, complicate the inevitable end, make the heartache longer.
Racing round a speedway, delicate in each turn. The chase stays oh-so close, but if pace falters, or lead becomes too great, then one may catch the other and in the victory we both lose. © 2008 Sean |
