Gentlemen write. Boys don't.

The classic difference

More than they are today,

the boys were more suave at some time.

Before the neoteric technology adulterated

the essence of life.

 

They now just 'chat'.

Interactions on Skype.

Invitations on WhatsApp.

and even proposals on Facebook!

Well, when you think of it

Boys do it more often.

Not men.

 

Yes, the gentlemen are still holding on

to their dignity and gentility.

Gentlemen write.

They use ink;

and not just some diddly ball point pen.

 

They use ecstatic words.

They know their charm,

the magic of a hand written thank you note.

And when they write

they write in cursive.

Not because it is tradition;

but it is well-mannered.

That's what makes them different.

 

The gentlemen write.

Boys don't.
