Accidents Happen

Accidents Happen

A Poem by Mellow

People are screaming

But I hear nothing

Children are running

But yet everyone is still

Everyone crowding around

But to me the world is empty

A sunny day

But I see clouds and rain

Others crying and frightened

But their faces look blank

What had happened

I only leaned out to look down

Not so far down

But I guess it was supposed to happen

Wasn't pushed nor shoved

Didn't jump

Pure accident

That's all

"It is going to be alright"

Some nice people told me

But everything was getting darker

And I guess the wind was blowing

Because I was getting colder

They closed my eyes when I fell asleep

I could faintly hear my mother sobbing

I don't know why though

Funny thing is, I don't remember waking up

I'm in an odd place now

Very white and bright

I can see everyone below me

Such a pretty sight

I like it up here, but a man says I can't go back down

I miss it down there now

I still don't know where I am

But I do have a hunch

Yet I don't want to believe it

Accidents happen

Lives are lost

Not everyone will understand
