Beauty is a tyrantA Poem by SaakshiBeauty is a tyrant It yields its power through its sheer force of being No thoughts, resolve, effort can stand on par with its mere presence Simply, innocently, unaware Or aware, it is.
Why do your eyes gleam the way they do? My eyes forget reality as they drown into yours.
I travel in my sight along the contours of your face And my fingers long to travel the same path Right then exists not the right nor the supposed wrong.
Why do your lips form the form they do? I lose my will to think at the tiniest twitch of those lips The nape of your neck.. The way a strand of hair curls behind those ears.. Your easy smile.
Surely, if not for those looks, I wouldn't be so held by you. I would think of the right and the wrong. Of ownerships and the game of who belongs to whom. But that face makes me throw it all away, denies me my freedom to choose. And by that, Beauty is a tyrant. © 2013 SaakshiReviews
