Deconstruction

In honor of Earth Day...

Splice through the flesh
Sinking teeth into the vein
Venom and her blood enmesh

Leave the body, withered and slain.

 

Tread not on those wilted limbs.
Defiled skin underfoot
You step to the rhythm of your sins
Crushing her charred remains to soot.

 

Let her return to the earth
Replenishing what we thought spent
Reincarnated, revelling in newborn mirth
While the world you crafted, laments.

A comment on several things at once. The destruction of our environment, the destruction of a human being physically or emotionally or simply the destruction of a home.
