Severance

Severance

A Poem by Sad Unc Days 3562

Our flame you extinguished,
covered over with soil,
and drenched with several pools of water,
so nothing may re-ignite.

Our garden you've cut down, trampled,
burned, driven spears in to the soil,
planted salt, and covered in tarpaulin,
so nothing may grow again.
I hope you enjoy the fruits of your labour.

While I was doing everything in my power to tend our flame and garden,
you penetrated me with your vicious stinger over and over again.
Until you made very certain I was so riddled with holes, I'd never get up again.

You win.

But what even made you do this?
I'm not sure even god knows.
