Holding on at all costs

You say it's important.

To stay together,

to soldier on,

to see through.

I say it's painful.

And exhausting.

And barren.

What we don't see is what else.

Willpower alone will not cure all.

Neither chemicals, nor forgetting.

But what else is there?

Fleeting moments correct not for crushing weight of reality.

Memory doubles down like a glacier.

Maybe the pressure will form rare resources, or minerals.

but it's rather unpleasant down here.

I'm not that good at reviews. But it sounds like you are in a relationship that you feel is failing. You recognize all the traps that hold you chained to the relationship. Then you realize that memories add even more pressure to it. Leaving you with a sense of hope that things will bring something good out of it if you just hold on a little longer.
