A writing that may not be criticised

A writing that may not be criticised

A Poem by Sad Unc Days 3562

If you cannot be criticised,
you are already corrupt

To share,
To exchange,
To come to an understanding

A mind turns away
In fear
In certainty
In necessity

And it is no longer part of the whole, or can be whole

An overwhelming tide of unfairness suffocates
And turns fair in to unfair

There is equally no exchange in battering
Or the same arguments repeated

What then?

To be corrupt, or to be corrupt.

There must be some other answer.

But are we human enough?

Is it possible with this wide a world?

Author's Note

Sad Unc Days 3562
The Holocaust was a terrible thing, so Judaism may not be criticised. Not even if Israel commits genocide.

Women have historically been seen as incompetent, or evil; they are also weak, so feminism must not be criticised. Even if a self-proclaimed member embodies the evil the cause is fighting.

A transgender person must have had an awful life. Gays were stoned to death, so who can criticise a trans person for offering death threats if their demands are not met?

And yet, with all that,

I myself fear being criticised, for the criticism.

Of having the neverending endlessly same debate. Over and Over.

Maybe it's right.

Maybe arguing the individual is how we change the world.
And accept each other.

Equally, it is exhausting.
Maybe it should be reserved for the ones you truly care about.
