What We MIss

What We Miss

We rush along in happy bliss

You'd be surprised at what you miss

Did you see that bum on the street?

How he was roasting in the heat?

Did you see that man with those bags?

With a body that slumps, a face that sags?

The shopping cart he pushed around?

His place of sleep: a soft dirt mound?

We watch TV, we whistle tunes

We stare up at the ghost white moon

Yet as we stare up at the sky

We miss the things that we pass by.

End.

I tried to make us realize that there are homeless people, etc. out on the streets but we never pay attention to them.
