Come the Question

 I’ll say my final prayer
 to who?
 For what?
 And when? It’s too much
I’ll ask for forgiveness
 but why?
 For what?
Won’t cry. It’s too much
I can’t recall what it is
 I’ve done
 were you
 the one?

I’ve come to question my faith
and even the intentions
of my soul, myself, and my will
Can’t quite recall how it was
that I was feeling yesterday
How will I feel tomorrow?
Will I be able to say
I agree
with the way
that I feel today?

If I offer my prayer
 what will I say
to who?
For what?
And why? It’s too much
Too much to ask of myself
Was I the one?

Was it you or was it me
and could I still be the one?
