Torn

Torn

A Poem by Saki

As I drown, submerged in water, I am torn between two forces
The urge to rise, as one hand tries to reach the surface, grasping for air, while the rest of me sinks
With no lifeline in sight, no anchor to hold
Then there is gravity, very gentle yet insistent
And as I descend into the depths, I wonder why am I resisting?
As it feels more natural, as if it's nature's law
