Beauty

Beauty

A Poem by Sam Freeland
"

a way of life

"

just a word among many
telling of personal truth
meaning so much to any
enjoying some couth

not having the couth
and you will likely find
beauty means very little
and that isn't being unkind

everything that we learn
becomes the person we are
in that there is truth
the most truth by far

we use words to tell
others what we think
they tell who we are
often quick as a wink

language began
as a means to learn
we do what we can
in our effort to decern

the beauty we see
most will agree
 is largely a choice
of whom we choose to be

extend that perception
to other truths we know
it is our love of God
that gives us the way to go

our God has given
our being to be
if we look in a mirror
 God's gift we will see

if we choose to believe
we are an extension of His grace
every day that we live
will give us joy to face

enjoying the beauties of life
will every day remind
that what life really means
is learning to be kind

This is a nice poem, and yes, so true your words.
I will however say you used couth twice..the first and
second stanza. I nit pick about words being duplicated.
For me it seems to take the flow out of a poem, and stalls
the description of what you are trying to portray to the reader.
