Facing the Future

Facing the Future

A Poem by Sam Freeland
"

for better or worse

"
The future looks bleak
one would have to say
the country is up the creek
in every which way

United we might stand
but divided we will fall
that's what we will get
and that is not all

If you think this isn't true
your head is in the sand
we're a nation praising idiots
all across the land

What should you do
to find some hope
by reading a good book
you might find a way to cope

There is still a little time
to think a  positive thought
stop following the lemmings
the disease we have caught

You might even find
a friend with a brain
spend some time with him
he will be glad you came

Its all up to you
to choose what to do
don't waste any time
and don't be blue

The past was better
I am sure you know
the future will be forever
and everyone will go

If this poem hasn't helped
why don't you say to me
you have a better solution
about which we both agree
