Meditation

A Poem by Sam Freeland
"

for future choices

"

Wisdom of the ages
should command your respect
when you let it get your attention
it will cause you to reflect

You must look beyond
what others choose to do
there is a lot to learn
that will give great help to you

 The wise let things happen
in their quiet human way
they live in peace and comfort
never needing a lot to say

Fame and fortune are a deterrent
that sing their siren song
being more of a detraction
by ignoring your need to belong

Genetics gives us a connection
that is natural and true
a life force we have in common
it is Iikely that you knew

Abnegating these truths
may not cause immediate pain
but by rejecting your past
you may seek happiness in vain

It will take some serious effort
to regain what was lost
it may not be even possible
to achieve it at any cost

Of the loss you may be aware
that this could happen to you
let us hope you use better sense
in what you choose to do

As we choose what to do in life, should we base our choices on what most peoples ideas of what to do are?
Perhaps we should be proud to be called a fool by others!
